Openweb Uncapped Feedback

I also hope Openweb/proxy to IS will stop shaping the uncapped gold accounts, I got full 60Kbytes on my 512 line with Afrihost, around 50Kbytes with Mweb, and with Openweb Gold, I get EXACTLY 40KBytes/sec on Torrents, and FTP, HTTP performance is not much better - damnit not even bursting - and when I dial a cap-account... back to full speed. Mailed Keoma, and then it's insinuated that it's a problem on my side - and that they tested the account, and all is working.

I've jumped enough now, I just hope Openweb will offer what they promised (same goes for everyone else selling uncapped accounts).

Let's see after 1 June what happens.

thx MrBeep, im all sorted now and account back to normal at full speed, nice fast response from openweb even thou it was a Sunday

Yip. Openweb to me is the one to beat. I am very happy at this moment in time. Very happy.

Over the weekend and this morning my download speed was very inconsistent. However after 12pm till about 7am it goes full tilt. It would have been nice to have it going full tilt 24/7. I'm on the gold uncapped network, any else experience the same ?

Do you guys often find your line is almost limited to 512kbit/s down (~50KB/s) downloads max during the day?

I often remotely add a few trailers and other content, even stuff from gaming.do.co.za and it crawls.

Gold network and getting more than 50% of my 4mbit line speed almost all the time. So I am happy. Not moving again.

I'm on 384k, downloading from megaupload my speed spikes between 2KB/s to 20KB/s max during the day, its only at round about 12pm when it goes fullspeed, however, downloading from cheapernews I almost get full line speed during the day. I guess it isn't that bad, unless anyone else here on the gold network gets fullspeed 24/7 on everything they download ?

Openweb is just awful at the moment.

Getting 15kb/s down, 10kb/s up to a LOCAL server via speedtest.net.

Mine's been like this since the 1st of the month. Yoyo-ing up and down every few seconds. Previous month was great.

Ping statistics for 196.43.22.222:
Packets: Sent = 249, Received = 227, Lost = 22 (8% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 35ms, Maximum = 279ms, Average = 87ms

This is sheisse, unacceptable internet. Keoma/Openweb cannot say it's my line, I tried 3 other ISP's.... my line runs at full speed, excellent decibel rating.

Maestr0 - Exactly which account are you using? Are you still getting > 50% of your 4 mbit line speed?

Well I am a new Openweber. Must say that I grabbed a ful 15 megs for the whole day off news servers...going at 1.2kbps on my 384 line. Seriously, WTF?

Hello,

Please email me: [email protected] with your speed troubles. We will move your account fromour current provider if possible, because they are simply not providing a good service.

All new subscribers from 1 June will automatically be placed on the new network.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Please mail me so that I can accomodate you for the rest of the month.

Kind regards
MrBEEP

I'm on 384 Gold account which at first had a fair bit of latency in WoW and AoC, but after mailing Keoma (who, I'm amazed to say, has a helluva lot of patience to put up with my constant niggling) I'm getting about 280-350ms in Age of Conan and around 400-600ms latency in WoW as well as full download speeds in http and ftp. Skype (webcam) on the previous account was noticeably slower but on this one it frikkin' flies. I haven't tried torrents yet, however, so I can't comment on that.

What I can say is that OpenWeb is the best ISP I've ever been with and they are the most helpful and friendly to boot. If you have a problem, mail them and I'm willing to bet a small fortune they'll sort you out as best as they can.

My only gripe is the lack of an OpenWeb usage tracker on the control panel to show you things like when you connected, disconnected, how much you downloaded, what number/port you connected from, whether there's a currently active session, etc.

I can comfortably say it'll take a lot to get me to switch to any other ISP after OpenWeb.
