Openweb Uncapped Feedback

First time I have had authentication issues. Torrents were crawling at 0.1k so decided on a reboot on the router. Now I can't logon using my details as well.

Can log in now. Anybody know why this is happening. Also anybody on 384k seeing their torrents crawl, they normally a lot faster at this time of the evening.

Is news dead for everyone else too?

Can not get even 1k/s out of Astra, this is so bloody annoying now.

Not downloading anything via torrents tonight and never use News.

But I get around 150k/s combined download speed for 3 simultaneous connections to 3 different online storage websites.

My torrents have picked up a bit now.. 14-20Kb/s, however HTTP speeds are slow as well, can't even breach 10Kb/s either :(

However, there is a possibility of Telkom doing maintenance on my exchange (Langenhoven Park) in Bloem. I hope that's the case too, because a friend of mine in JHB are getting excellent speeds on the same torrent at the moment. He is downloading at 33-38Kb/s. Another thing, last night whilst playing a friendly clan game, I had horrendous lag as well.. massive ping spikes anything from 200-999ms, it was horrible. I hope this isn't all IS related and more Telkom related in my case.

How on earth can their shaper/throttler/line killer start at 6:30 in the morning?

since then, torrents won't connect, Astra connect max 3 threads and plods along at 15k/s...

Even Digichilli was better than this, I was getting 26-30k/s throughout the day and night.

Hello,

If you are on a 384k account, please mail me so that I can move you to the OpenWeb ADSL network.

Kind regards
MrBEEP

Have moved onto the new account details for 384K users and have found a positive improvement so far.

Same here, HTTP downloads are moving along quite nicely. Torrents appear to be better during the day as well. Will test it with gaming a bit later to see if I still get huge ping spikes in Bad Company 2 like I did on the IS backbone.

I cannot get more than 2MB on this account...that's on anything I do (Http and News). It was going along nicely for the last few days, but today it hovers around 2MB with 2.2MB being max. Anyone else getting this?

Jip I am in the same boat...now have 2MB uncapped. Next week it will be 1MB.

Mr Beep? What's going on? Are you going to refund us all who paid for 4MB Uncapped? And stop blaming IS...

By the way torrents not getting more that 20KB/s

Have already cancelled the account and will be moving on next month unless Openweb can convince me and others to stay.

Might I enquire as to how we can stop blaming Internet Solutions when it is them whom manages and provides us with the account?

We are working on arranging an alternative supplier due to the poor speeds, however, the supplier we have chosen are not quite ready yet. We will relaunch these packages when they are. For now I suggest mailing me, so that I can log a fault with IS.

Kind regards

This morning my account sped up quite a bit. I see that Mweb users are complaining big time about their speeds. Hehe, it's quite funny. I remember the whole mightier than though attitude they took up. Now who's smiling! My Openweb account is running GREAT today!

Oh I am a really happy camper.......:D:love:

had a problem with my account this morning....very very slow......e-mailed them and next thing my net is flying......:whistle::D

Thanks Keoma......

Hi there Guys

I'm currently with Afrihost , shopping around for another ISP.
Just wanna know if any of you guys at Openweb went over 30 GB, and was there a huge speed difference.

Thanks

Nope, I am well over 30 gig and no problem with speeds.

And I cancelled my Afrihost account on the last day of March.

Moved over 100 gigs total traffic this month on Openweb/IS with no warnings or out-of -the-ordinary throttling. Speeds have consistently been at around 2MB on a 4MB line, even at the start of the month. Torrents are generally poor and account for approx 1/3 of my total traffic, but are sufficient for my needs. I have a problem logging into Steam, which remains unresolved, but all in all I'm a happy camper.
