Openweb Uncapped Feedback

MrBeep can you tell me how the 384 standard uncapped packages are shaped? what kind of speeds can i expect for downloading? What gets throttled and when? I am with an IS and I have just reached 10gigs and i am now using a voucher to come online......I have heard good things about Openweb, but this time i want to do my homework before tearing my hair out.

I've officially had it with Afrihost. Could someone tell me what to expect with the OpenWeb 384 uncapped package such as latency to Cape Town/JHB and London, any authentication issues, anything someone should preferably know beforehand?

Thanks.

From what I can tell from mu research online is that IS has a 15gig threshold, so no matter what ISP you use, if they use IS then you will be throttled at 15gig (seems to be 10gig for most). Can anyone verify this?

You should read our replies, no throttling with the Openweb I/S uncapped yet (Over 100gig myself).

Sorry for the repeat, my line speed is up and down like crazy today, so the page timed out.

I'm at 150gig alrdy this month and line still at full speed with no problems, great service from openweb. Thou I must say I am sharing this line with 4 other households (wireless) including me so that's probably why my usage is so high, but it still works great

Might I enquire as to how we can stop blaming Internet Solutions when it is them whom manages and provides us with the account?

We are working on arranging an alternative supplier due to the poor speeds, however, the supplier we have chosen are not quite ready yet. We will relaunch these packages when they are. For now I suggest mailing me, so that I can log a fault with IS.

Kind regards
MrBEEP

Is this a pass the buck reply because your service is bad? Who should I mail [email protected]. I didn't sign up with IS I signed up with Openweb.

Hello,

It would be wonderfull if you could email me so that I can try and resolve your problem. It is always advised to mail us first before posting negative comments on a public forum. At least give us the opportunity to resolve the problem.

AnthonyZA, please email me as well. I think I have just the solution for you :)

Kind regards
MrBEEP

Do you also blame your municipality when Eslkom shuts off the power?

No...but I am sure you can tell us more about your electricity problems there in the Western Cape :)

This is the best unacapped option atm. I have downloaded over 300gb so far. Still get 420 at night. No throttling. Openweb ftw :)

WOw that is great news.

Cancelling Afrihost, getting Openweb rather.

Done that already, effective 1st May.

I must say, I've been buying OpenWeb's products on and off since 2008, they always delivered on their promises. A few times there were niggles, but Keoma is always available and keen to resolve them, even if he has to take on IS #brandplus

which is more than I can say for Afrihost. Suddenly after their PR debacle, Gian is nowhere to be found when previously you could reach him on Twitter quite easily! #brandminus

Well done Openweb, keep this quality of service up and paying attention to your customers and you will have a steady client base. Which is more than what can be said for Afrihost, Gian has gone into hiding. Kudos to MrBeep.
