I use the Vodacom Business for R2699 at our office, and it is the best account! It is shaped on p2p and torrents, but for office use, that is ideal!

Great account in my opinion!

Hey Guys/MrBEEP

Looking at getting one of the uncapped business packages from Openweb for our office.

Which would you recommend between these and why??

Gold Uncapped 4mb (Unshaped) - R2299
Platinum Uncapped 4mb (Shaped) - R2699
Platinum Uncapped 4mb (Unshaped) - R2899
Vodacom Business Platinum Uncapped 4mb - R2699

We do a bit of downloading, but uptime is also very important.
So what speeds can we expect from these different packages during daytime/after hours use?
I guess I just want to gauge user experience before making a choice.

And if we do download the occasional torrent, how are the speeds? Would most likely only be after hours.

Anybody know if there is a speed difference between mweb uncapped and openweb gold uncapped, what I really want to know is it worthwhile to pay the extra money to move from mweb to openweb.

Depends what you do. If you use protocols that are shaped then the GOLD is better.

I just signed up for an Openweb account.

What is the purpose of the recharge function in the control panel?

Can it be used to top up via EFT and then using the credits to renew my account for another month?

is Rapidshare and Hotfile still being shaped aggresively on the Gold uncapped?

Which is the better option to use?

I got/get fine speeds on both HF and RS. RS isn't worthwhile anymore because everything gets deleted if it looks funky to their servers.
I just make use of the free downloads from them.

I get concerned when support calls are not answered, is this number correct? 0861 22 44 66

It keeps telling me the subscriber is on a call before disconnecting me :(

What kinda speeds you getting? you running on 4Mb line or 384?

My account is flying today! Chose the Uncapped Unshaped at the beginning of the month and will never look back!

quick, Openweb has been in business for a long time. Email [email protected] Mrbeep will assist you

Ok, so the service is great and all, but why am I just about to had enough of Openweb? I will tell you why, authentication errors!

It has now happen a couple of times this month that you wake up in the morning or come home in the evening to find that you had not downloaded during the night/day because I had no connection due to Authentication failure. Then you reconnect a couple times (more like 10 times) and then finally you are in. #@!ing annoying, so much so that I have had enough. I have been with several ISP's and this one is the first that I have this issue with.

On two occations I actually had to email them to reset my account! Also a first since I joined Openweb.

How have your experiance been?

If I remember correct, from the previous time this happened to me, it's apparently to do with the authentication servers taking too much strain and having to queue the authentication requests. For some reason though this doesn't really seem to happen as often if you dial via PPPOE.
It happens on my OW account, it happened on my old uncapped account too.

Although, it doesn't bother me at all, because my connection is on 24/7 (on my router).

I also have authentication errors every time I try and connect. I just leave my router to retry on it's own until it does. It's not a deal breaker but I wish I knew why it is like this.

The problem is my router gets the error message and then it is "off"
