Thanks for the info. My account is already running and I was wondering why they not debiting me. I guess they expect me to pay them ;)

Did anyone else's wheels fall off their Gold account about an hour ago? Getting 5KB/s average on shaped protocols.

Well I must say this uncapped lite account is working according to the product description and its twice if not more faster then Mwebs Shaped Uncapped, Even Browsing is faster. Damn im very pleased that IS has learned out of other ISPs mistakes.

The way IS has their T&C set for the Lite packages are almost inline with most international ISP's.
Only exception is that large, international ISP's have a much lower percentage of "power users"... in the regions of 3-7% instead of 20% or 50% like IS has.

But I can live with it. Don't plan on raping the connection. If I get done what I need to get done, I'm happy.
If I dont constantly need to monitor the bandwidth usage while doing so... well lets just say this is as close to heaven as I have been in a VERY long time...

Hey semaphore,

It will not be a threshold limit, it is suggested usage so to speak. The nice thing though is, the effects on Uncapped AH does not mean slow internet. It only means shaping will apply on P2P and torrents. They will not be killed either.

The R1299 account has no limit.

I do apologize for the price, however, our 4Mbps After Hours account has always cost R1299. We have had to find a replacement product, and we did, at no price change.

The R899 is a new introduction to our basket.

While i understand your hands are tied, i believe the ISP's should have fought back before allowing such a change to go through without properly disclosing the GB value to the public, saying 20% is obtuse, and could mean anything. If people are too **** scared to download high volumes it basically means 20% of the 200GB users or even less. We could look at throttling entering even hypothetically into the 50GB region. There has to be a theoretical limit where by the system starts taking that particular user into account.

How severely will the shaping be oh the AH after hours, lets use news for example. Will this shaping also effect gaming protocols such as world of Wow/SC2 ?

Furthermore, what is stopping IS from implementing the same FUP on your 1.2K accounts.

OK seems I spoke too soon, I went from 38,5K/s last night to 27K/s today. It did this last month too, it will just get slower and slower....

After running at 10kbs last night, my news server downloads are now running at 3kbs. I have sent Keoma emails on this, and I hope he bothers responding. This service is going from bad to worse for me.

Yeah, bursts of 3-5kb (not kb/s, actual data total) every few seconds when I'm lucky...
Going to have to send out a mail when I get back this afternoon if it's not some self-resolving issue. :l

seems to be very erratic, getting excellent speeds/latency this morning. I'll stick with them until they've sorted out the problems.

Problems?

This is false advertising, saying a product will perform in a specific manner (unshaped), when it will perform totally different (shaped to death).

got my telkom adsl line activated to 384 going to be signing up today for the isp either openweb or axess uncapped unshapped lite for 190 odd bucks who should i in for?im not a huge downloader maybe 15 gig a month so hopefully not in the top 20% for axess to throttle me.does openweb do any shapeing or throtteling on the lite ?is their sign up quick do they need much documents from me thanks

I had to log onto another account to post this. MyBB wouldn't load past the logo.

Yup. Keoma had me send him this, then never returned any of my (many) emails.

Happy to report that my downloads are full speed, albeit for only the second time this month.
