Yeah I still get authentication errors now and then, but it usually goes through after the second try.

Can anyone tell me what Openweb's outgoing SMTP server is please?
 
Anyone else on VB experiencing slow speeds? I'm on 4MB line.

Little slow for me tonight, IS backbone. Refering to HTTP stuff, non shaped.

There seems to be a peering problem between Vodacom and IS, speed tests to IS are giving about 500kbit/s but Vodacom, Neology and Vodacom are giving around 3.6mbit/s. I am currently getting around 3.4mbit/s from Downstorm.

I started using OW beginning of this month after being on Axxess 384 uncapped and suffering from IS (top 20%) poilcies.
Now, first 2-3 days of October was great - speed were good, http, torrents, youtube, etc
Then torrents started to get shaped during the day, and that's fine, after all it is shaped account.
But in the same time, http started to deteriorate and it became unusable by now.
Local sites are still ok, but not international, international is half dead, and my torrents were off for the whole day.
I cant even post speedtest details because speedtest website gives me an error.

At this moment I just wanted to know if this is normal for the 384k Openweb Standard uncapped shaped account to behave itself like this?

P.S. finally managed to get speedtest done:

I'm on the 384kbps gold uncapped special - R248 or some such per month.

Been on it for a week now - speeds are still flying, line is being maxxed out.

I had one problem with speed and I emailed Keoma (Openweb CEO) and he reset my port, ever since then i've been flying again.

Definitely worth the money.

Also the 'normal' openweb uncapped accounts - are these not IS? Is this not why you are being shaped so aggressively?

Yes, it is indeed IS, but I had an impression that IS has different types of accounts, there are some with 20% rule, and there are other, just shaped accounts.
Am I wrong?

I am on Openweb Gold 384K uncapped, how does one tell which network you on? I have been shuffled around due to performance issues and it would give me a better perspective as to where everyone is coming from.

Anyone else notice youtube on their gold accounts is very inconsistent? Some videos will load up instantly and there is no need to buffer while others are slow and take a while to load.

Lol jip and not just that i cant seem hit more then 100kb/sec download why i dont know but really seems to me i cant have a proper internet connection for more then2 days
 
awesome speeds on my uncapped unshaped night shift account sitting on just over 100 GB and its only the 8th and thats with my noob brother playing games half through the night so could not download :)
 
Getting a PAP Error when trying to connect to my account... Have emailed Mr Beep... dunno if he'll get it tonight though :(

EDIT: Waited a while and am now connected... :)
