LOL, yeah the only downside might be with torrents using a VB account, the IS backbone performs a bit better with torrents, but for everything else, HTTP, Youtube, NZBs the VB backbone is the best in my book.Period. :)

Anyone on the IS network...is there still International issues? I'm getting very slow speeds.

Either Steam isn't showing me any love, or VB is killing the Steam ports.... logging into Steam takes forever.
 
today was my first day using openweb, started off fine then the line went dead... emailed keoma who eventually moved my line to VB which worked great but now the line is dead again :(

anyone else having issues in jhb ?
 
Yeah. Keoma sorted me out on IS backbone.going full speed last time I checked... But maybe telkom is going into holiday mode. Be patient. It will come right.
 
Also on the IS backbone. Getting just about half my usual download speed. I'll send a mail if it's still acting up tomorrow
 
Any of u guys have a ****ty browsing experience on 4mb gold?and tell me how is your over-all downloading on MU

Yes, it's very very slow for me too. Gmail won't open. Overall download is horrible :mad:

YUP, what Pietershaun said Plus, what is the usual (in practice) torrent speeds for VB on 4meg gold? Was around 30kb since switched on and then down to 5kb reached a max of 100kb for 5 minutes and back down again. What troubles me is speedtest showed awesome speeds. I also understand it must be shaped, but to this extent? Just checking, oh and i will send Keoma an e-mail if you guys say it's not normal.

Lol well i am really getting annoyed cause i only downloaded not more then 50gig last month and yesterday i really needed to download some stuff from MU and till last night ten o clock i was hitting max speed of 13-50kps,why is it every month i need to have some prob,may b this isn't for me any more

Jip for me as swell i am getting for the 1st 20-30sec on mega-upload full download speed then woop down to a staggering 10-50kps even in the evenings,i thin keoma should have a check cause this is really getting bad and i mean i know we are not paying for a unshaped service and full line like 2.5k etc but at least we need something from gold that it is better then normal and it aint @ the moment now.easy for speed test to show line speed cause they cant pick up shaping then it is easy to say no no u are not shaped look here i get full line speed,bull**** man
 
I'm sure there must be a problem somewhere. Been tracking this thread for months and haven't seen things like this. (Holding thumbs) hope this is just a just a problem and not reality!
 
The same for me certain times you can not even watch youtube it just buffers .The speeds on torrents is not so great ether it maxes out at 150kbps on torrents nothing higher and this is at 2am on a well seeded torrent.

I hope this improves otherwise do not think I will be using gold next month.

And this is all on a 4meg connection
