Hi

Can somebody please tell me what type of speed on average does a user get on a well seeded torrent on a 4meg gold uncapped account.

I can not get higher then 120kbps is this normal if it is a bit of a disapointment maybe somebody can tell me which backbone is the best.

I get about 40kbytes/s on the VB backbone but I use Downstorm to get what I need at full line speed
 
Wow only 40kbps I used to get more then that on my 512k lite uncapped from openweb. So it means that I paid R739 for a package that cannot download torrents more then 120kbps cause that is all I have gotten since yesterday.So now I have to get Downstorm to download at full speed.

1.Is there anyway I can pay the difference and upgrade to afterhours maybe MrBeep can answer this?
2.Can I pay for Dowstorm through EFT/Deposit
 
Torrents are generally such a hit and miss way to get material (IMHO) but I find the kickasstorrents to be of the highest quality (fast even with low seed/peers). Try pulling your torrents from there and see if the performance is better than what you currently achieving.
 
I don't know why some people waste their time with torrents? Seriously, I have downloaded boatloads via HTTP and NZBs, especially HTTP. If you know where to download and how to download with HTTP, it beats torrents any time of the day. But I guess, like they say, different strokes for different folks. :)

The after hours uncapped is also worth a look in. I'm using it to great effect but I've been upgraded to 10mb so it flies...

FFS! Can't even get into WoW or Steam now, and both Torrents/NZBs are dead slow, lest than 3kb on both. My 1GB Free Afrihost account works fine for everything.
Going to bed now, will email Keoma in the morning if the problem still persists. Leaving the PC on to see if anything happens during the night, but my connection is basically dead atm :(
 
Past few week has been awesome! No problems. NZBs and torrents going at full speed 24/7
 
Lucky 4 you wish mine could go that fast

and now certain international site do not want to load

Well I must say, I was getting great speeds last night. All in all a good service. Keoma replies to mails very quickly, he is willing to help when there are issues and posts problems on his web page.
This guys, is what its all about. Gold is the way peeps :p

Mr Beep sorted my little hiccup too, so it's back to it's good "normal" self.
 
Have to agree great service from Mr Beep.This is one of the reasons why I subscribe to openweb great service

I generally get about 350-450kbytes/s during office hours and then up to 600-650 after hours. I have never got under 300 except when telkom decided to move me to 384k. Downstorm is all http downloads.

How long does it take to download from torrent site to downstorm? or is it concurrent? Lets say a 1 Gig file?
