Openweb Uncapped Feedback

I just wasted 30 min waiting to talk to Telkom just so they could tell me there is no problem at my exchange, which I already knew because I can connect with pre-paid accounts from Afrihost and Nexus. It must be an Openweb fault, because if it was a Telkom fault the pre-paid account would not have worked either.

Sigh... my speeds are down to the 2.43Mb/s range according to speedtest.net :(

Maybe it could be exchange related, however I'm pretty sure if I pop in my Afrihost 1GB free account it should run full speed... its not as if I download 24/7 , will check it again later.

StoneCold, have a look at www.gam.co.za, click support and bandwidth test meter.

Hey snail, thanks for the headsup on that test.

My result is as follows:

Download Speed: 4511 kbps (563.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 196 kbps (24.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 30 ms

Did another speedtest and looks much better now: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1111430749.png - upload speed is a bit on the low side, but its not the end of the world.

I'm also still disconnected. I can think of a few bad things I would like to say, but it will not fix Openweb's problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you guys are on IS, switch over to VB for the time being. Something is definitely borked on IS' network.

I'm on the Neology network and according to Keoma there is nothing wrong with it. The port was also reset but didn't fix the problem. Afrihost and Nexus connects fine. So nothing wrong with Telscum either.

For once it is not Telscum's problem.

I was on the bcsnet backbone and also could not browse or DL so Keoma moved me to the openwebturbo backbone which worked fine until yesterday morning.

Now I wait...........................

Hello,

I do apologize. I took last night off.

I will respond to queries sent to my email this morning.

MrBeep moved me to the VB network, but the problem stays the same. Red Internet light on router, no Default Gateway IP. Confirmed 128Kbps Upstream and 384Kbps Downstream for my 384 line.

P.S. SAIX & IS prepaid account are working.

Yoh, my downloads are flying this morning on VB, holding thumbs it remains that way for the future :D

Same. And speedtest shows full speed to Joburg and London.

Now to see what speeds we get during the week in business hours
