oh for f**ks sakes. speeds on http now at 384k on a 4M line

edit - so MrBeep is VB down again?

edit2 - having read the last couple of pages, it seems that VB is back to the problems it has been having.

Are you getting good speeds? Maybe a router reboot is in order

Edit - seems I was running a torrent on one of my computers. It was doing 100kB/s down but enough yo render NS useless as xrapidx has previously found.

OMS, my international download speeds are also up to crap at the moment on VB using news servers via SSL, was still flying this morning.

My youtube vids are buffering now like mad, this morning it loaded without any problems.

There is definitely something wrong international wise on the VB network, although speedtest.net thinks otherwise: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1113915048.png :wtf:

Oh yeah I moved to the NON-SSL server and got good speeds. Though they seem to be slower now.

Holy macro, I just disabled SSL and mine also went through the roof just now, running at 420KB/s + in comparison to 30-50KB/s I had just a little while ago. Maybe this might also be the case during business hours downloading as well, perhaps they shape the crap out of SSL during office hours. Although last week of December and first week of January I got full speed on SSL during business hours if I recall correctly. Will definitely test it. :)
 
My routers internet light is also staying on red, and i tried rebooting a couple of times, doesn't seem to be resolving the problem.
 
Just tested, NZBs running at 160-180KB/s for SSL and non-SSL. No doubt it will pickup once 16:30 or 17:00 arrives, or at least, so I hope.
 
I can hardly browse, can't get to speedtest.... guess my account will stay cancelled.
 
Not impressed with the issues you guys are experiencing on gold uncapped accounts. Before you jump ship and if you prepared to cough up R899 per month I strongly recommend the after hours uncapped account. You heavily throttled between 7am-7pm to anything between 192-384kbps but between 7pm and 7am the performance is superb and based on your maximum attainable line speed, so, if like me your line has been upgraded to 10mb, between 7pm and 7am the account runs at max speed.. Must say performance is pretty spectacular. Bear in mind though I'm not using torrents or news servers or gaming but rather file hosting sites like megaupload and hotfile.

EDIT: Oh and weekends from Friday night 7pm to Monday morning 7am full speed...
