I'm in Pretoria.

I've had a few cases where IP's that I trace, display the wrong results.... ie a Jhb IP reports back as a Cape Town IP and so on.

Mmmm, I think there might be more to this. If Sammy is also from Cape Town, then perhaps something is buggered on VB's network at Cape Town with regards to international routing or something. I'm not saying it is the case, but at least it might be something to work with to try and solve this nonsense.

It could very well be. Chances are it's more related to the larger exchanges. Or at least those are the usual culprits.

Eish, at least my download speed has been kick ass throughout this whole "some websites not loading" problem. Will drop MrBeep an email and ask for another VB account to test with and see if it persists.

No, my account has been fine until like 15min ago. Now it's just dreadful. I can't even properly initiate a RDP session.

Ok... speed's back to normal.

Edit.... more or less. Http goes up and down the whole time.

Sigh.. I give up, tried another VB account, yet again it shows my location as Cape Town, and still gives me loading problems on the same websites. Oh well, at least he download speed and local sites + youtube are flying, so can't complain otherwise.

Odd how our VB accounts seem to perform differently. I really wonder what the deal is.

Very odd, for example, check my speedtest result: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1542510629.png

The other thing that gets to me, I can't even logon to PSN network for more than 2 minutes, then it kicks me out with that 8200AD23 error, which is a DNS related error. Log back in, same story. So I can't even game online on my PS3, and tomorrow, NFS The RUN's demo also becomes available and I really want to check that out, but won't be able to, because of this DNS problem.:mad:

Wow, ur lucky, ur line is twice as fast as mine.

That's so weird. The shaping policy also seems to differ..

Indeed, here is my 1GB Afrihost Free Account's speedtest: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1542549362.png

The pages that won't load with my VB account loads 100% with my afrihost one, so something is definitely pear shaped with VB's DNS server for my VB account. Anyone else besides Sammy7 that also have this problem ?

I34z1k where are you located ?

My VB account has been crappy lately too. Keep on waiting for it to come right, but as of yet it hasn't so I guess its time to mail mrBeep. And I'm know there is Seacom outage, but my local traffic is super slow also.

Hmm, my local is fine, majority of the international sites are fine, although the load slower than normal and then some sites don't load at all like I've stipulated. Do you think the Seacom outage could be causing this for us VB users, because it's been like this for almost a week now since this problem started :(

Mines been up and down the whole month, just sent email off to Keoma now so hopefully we can fix it soon.

I am in Pretoria. I used to get that consitant timeout a while back, but it has since been sorted out..

Ok, have you ever had the problem where you would run a Speedtest and it would show your location as Cape Town instead of Pretoria/Jhb ? Cause I have that problem, although it's been more than a month since it's been like that, but the timeout/DNS errors like I previously stated only started 1 week ago.

I think something is broken somewhere wherever my account gets routed for international traffic. Doing some tracert tests, it doesn't appear to be the case, as I've submitted 4 of these tests to MrBEEP over the weekend already, so it's really puzzling me, but I will persist, must get to the bottom of this before the end of the week.

I'll keep an eye out for that.. Was hoping I'd get full speeds after midnight.

Seems that's not the case. I hope this is due to Seacom being down or something :\
