Hi,

Mr Beep was kind enough to give me a 12 hours trial on the Openweb Uncapped Gold 4Mbps, the service is very good except for the P2P, I barely manage 20kbps at the best time! I don't do much P2P on monthly basis, about 10Gb (few series/movies) but I certainly don't want to wait days/weeks for it.

If you have Openweb Gold Uncapped what is your experience with P2P? What solution do you use?

Are these download services such as UseNext, also shaped?

Re: Openweb Uncapped and Vuze

Eish! Same problem here can't get Vuze to d/load however with my Telkom 4mb account its OK, on 512k package from OpenWeb.

Hello,

If you are having a problem, please email me so that we can address it.

Kind regards
MrBEEP

Heard good things about Openweb ( friends of mine use it ) and they've got no problems with downloading series and such ( rapidshare ).

No personal experience, since I've got no reason to jump ship from MWEB, but if the day ever does come, Openweb will be my new ISP.

Turns out you do get pretty severe shaping even on the gold accounts. I'm looking for a new service now. That in mind last month I did go a little crazy, but this month I've not downloaded much (I rate around 50gigs?) and I'm now getting 40kb/s on a 4meg acc.

Depends what backbone you are on. Vodacom shape p2p more heavily than IS or Neology. Try get access to a different backbone.
