OpenWeb Uncapped packages

Say you have a 384k line that is shaped during office hours, what happens if you have a rapidshare premium account (http) downloads would you still be shaped?
When they shape the line, how much are we talking about drop in speed wise, with SAOL I'm at a constant 36+ 24/7.

the war is starting

"In an apparent response to MWEB, the packages start at R219 per month for a 384kbps connection, and range to R539 for 4096kbps. For business users the price ranges from R499 to R1999, respectively."

Thats mweb's pricing.

But yeah, cant wait to see what openweb comes up with. It will be more, but lets hope they offer something worthwhile.

If they do launch it... I will use OpenWeb rather than Mweb. I've been very happy with OpenWeb. and I trust them more than Mweb.

I don't understand the article, are openweb offering competing accounts?

They are launching their own uncapped products on the 23rd. Exact details have not been released, other than the fact that it will be unshaped at night.

Was an Openweb fan for ages.

Moved to SAOL for 384 uncapped @ R499, incl. Anyone who undercuts that, unshaped will win me over. As long as there is not a months transfer time or some such other kark...

I was about to say Gary will be jumping all over this if its good.

I've cancelled my Axxess uncapped, but I have until the end of the month to switch to a new uncapped package. I, too, would prefer Openweb to Mweb. Watching the market with interest!

OK, so OpenWeb are now the same price as Mweb... in fact they are partnering with Mweb.

Just seen the OpenWeb banner ad for 4Mb uncapped @ R539pm. But when I click on it there is nothing about it on the landing page (ie still plugging the R2499 uncapped "special").

Guys, this is just people reselling the MWeb accounts - we're all chatting with them to do exactly the same thing.

As we get a reseller kick back based on volume then expect that there will be cheaper prices to come on the exact same product...

Addition: Actually, I do need to check with MWeb that they are happy for people to sell cheaper.

I have been using OpenWeb for the last month and I have not had a good experience with them. I have an uncapped service from SAOL at home and have been very have with both their internet service and customer service.
