Anybody tried these yet? R219 for 384k etc, and they seem to be on the IS backbone just like Afrihost.

Any feedback on these?

Openweb were just reselling Mweb uncapped accounts last week. So, rather just sign up with Mweb directly.

So what if they're just reselling? Why not sign up with the smaller isp - same price, same quality, and doing your bit to even things out a tad. I was with Openweb for ages before Afrihost came along and always had great service.

I signed up only from 1st April though can't wait to try it out. Sign up process was quick and easy and their email response instant compared to Cybersmart my current ISP

I think that MR BEEP was on yesterday saying that they are now using the IS 199/499 backbone.
P.

Well I mailed them awaiting reply. Either way, I have always liked Openweb, so if they are reselling Mweb packages, I'd rather pay them.

Ah I also want to go with Openweb when I switch to uncapped, never had a single problem, and if I do have one, email Mr.Beep and he sorts you out ASAP.

Any reply form that email yet?

Iv heard that Openweb are no longer reselling Mweb accounts but rather their own accounts run on I.S backbone with same Mweb pricing!

From the email that I got from Mr.Beep, the Mweb accounts they are selling are only available on special request and require u to sign a contract for 12 months with Mweb. I bought a once off consumer 384k uncapped account this morning which runs via the IS backbone. Browsing speeds are top notch, youtube needs to buffer a bit, but I'd rather not comment on local IS news server speeds as well as torrents. They are shaped to death. Gaming wise latencies are a bit higher, although I'll test speeds again tonight after 8pm and see if things improve. I only bought the account as a trial to see how things are, hopefully they improve as the month goes by. If it doesn't, then I'll jump on the Mweb bandwagon.

Well openweb looses my cash then, not very competitive in pricing at all if its over I.S backbone.
The Mweb accounts i must say have been pretty good to me

So far it looks ok to me. Speed not optimal with html download, getting about 75% of my linespeed through a download manager

what kind of speeds you getting on torrents and rapid etc (if you use those) ?

I don't have much torrents in my program at the moment so can't really tell. I have a 2mb line and getting only 150 kB/s with IDM. It was however at 235kB/s earlier today
