Maybe they can offer 2 uncapped packages, one 384k 24x7 unthrottled for Rxxx and one 384k throttled during the day for Rxxx/2 :D
 
yeh, i agree. 384k is slow enough. If it is now going to be throttled during the day, I'm not so sure if I am still interested...

Honestly, I can understand throttling 4mb, as then people could download over a terrabyte per month. But I mean 384k- what's the maximum download possible if you download 24/7 per month? I think I read somewhere that it is max 100gb. Cmon, even if we wanted to abuse it, we couldn't! No need to throttle us!

Thats exactly just it....384 is already sloooow....I definitely don't need to be throttled down to dailup speeds again:(
 
Chances are I won't be going for this new package either...

IMO there should be no throttling. 384K is slow enough, especially if you have a 4mb line and can't make full use of it.

If this is all Seacom currently has to offer, it would seems that it is still viable to go the local bandwidth route (Newshost etc). I am just not interested in a throttled package, which will probably cost in excess of R600 anyway.
 
My guess is its being throttled because openweb isnt using pure seacom pricing just yet. This may be a stop gap measure.


But without any appreciation for the business model, and looking at this from a customers perspective, for me a throttled account can't be much more than R500. If it starts creeping much higher than that then i may be forced to pass on it.
 
/me taking out the popcorn and wait to see OpenWeb miss yet another one of its self-imposed deadlines.

The launching of the 'new' products have been imminent for a while now.

I bet they are going to cry Telkom again, but the fact is that over the last several years they have missed the one deadline after the other, even when Telkom wasn't involved.

Any news on the new package? It's almost end of August and need to make a plan and see what to get next month.
