Hey ppl.

With the price drops coming in August, and the fact that I am resigning from my part time icafe job to work another part time job @ Exclusive Books, I will probably be getting ADSL. I was wanting to go with Openweb but I am deathly afraid of IS since we tried an uncapped package thru SAI (a reseller) once. I will mostly use it for gaming and email and once the 1 gig int is gone, some local torrents from greenlab or whoever the major tracker is these days. So yeah:

1) Is IS latencies and speed ok during the day?
2) How good is the uptime through Openweb?
3) Do you get any speed @ all once you have been capped internationally? Not even a trickle to check my gmail?
4) Will I be able to log into steam once I am capped (even if it takes 20 minutes)?
5) Will being based in Cape Town affect anything drastically?
6) I have heard rumours about higher cap SAIX based accounts from Openweb. Anyone got any inside info on those? ^_-

After reading that, choose your provider. Axxess or Webafrica.

Buy a 1GB prepaid unshaped account and top up when you need to, then you buy let's say 10GB local for R190, it's worth it, the speeds are amazing ;)

Openweb is cool, but greener pastures have arrived.

Heya

Zol most of the **** you play is local or ...? If its local IS isps are fine, I would recommend openweb, webafrica were useless and screwed up my order several times when i did an EFT.

For international something unshaped is better, e.g. verizon or webafricas multi dsl that allows you to switch between saix and verizon network by changing your username slightly.

I would recommend like a 1-2 gig international saix acc and 30gig local for R130 from openweb, i get full speed on my downloads on 384k line with openwebs IS 30gig local.
