Opera plans to go public

Web browser Opera Ltd. which dates back to the mid-1990s, when PCs ran Windows 95, and Steve Jobs was leading Next Computer Inc. after being ousted from Apple, is returning to the public markets.

Opera is expected to debut on the Nasdaq Global Select Market Friday after selling what could amount to as much as $115 million in stock.

surprised Opera hasnt been bigger in Africa considering how much data is saved by the compression data saving features on the desktop and Opera mini

Chrome also does that and it's a much better browser.

true chrome does it now. but I have been using Opera mini for more than ten years now. then once I got a PC and Opera desktop tied in so well with Mini, I naturally got hooked into it.

I liked the old opera, not so much since they move to the chromium base.
