Operator: a new font for programmers

At $200, they can keep it.

Hoefler & Jones has always been an expensive foundry. It is a nice font though...

You should never use anything even remotely related to cursive font in situations where ease of reading is important.
Look at "class", "mouse" and "ref" in that example. Would drive me bonkers.
Give me nice blocky letters any day.

No way that will work in the Natural pgm editor or in File Aid or RAC1ROS for COBOL source.

The magical, mythical programmer's font, it's Deja Vu, all over again, Sans Mono.
Then again, lots of of programmers are Inconsolata, and some are just plain Monaco.

One small point, there are many, many things that making "coding" harder.
Nothing makes "coding" easier.

$200 to turn half your code into cursive? WTF are they smoking? On what planet will that help code readability?

Interesting concept..

Would've liked to use it as a laugh (real programmers code in cursive!) but a definite nope@dat price!

Bitstream Vera Sans Mono or any of it's derivatives for coding all day long, anything else will give you a headache.

I installed the font on all our developers on Monday and we have released changes TWICE as fast. No lies. Developers are now worried that I might have to let some go due to being so efficient.

This even works in Linux and our Sysadmins have said, they are now capable of installing servers 3 times faster. Even people who could not type fast have doubled their typing speed and emails are sent out so much quicker.

I have seen many a font in my 20 years in the IT business, and i need this font for developing our new software because it is beta
