What you guys think of this entry-level machine and price?

Intel dual-core E5200 2.5GHz
Kingston 2GB DDR2-800 RAM
Seagate 250GB 7200RPM SATA Drive
LG DVD writer
Gigabyte G31 motherboard w/ onboard GMX X3100 video, etc.
Gigabyte M1 4-in-1 chassis (chassis, 320W PSU, keyboard + optical mouse)
LG W1954S-PF widescreen 19" LCD 1440x900 w/ 50,000:1 DC
Windows 7 Home Basic

Price: R5190.00

For use as an entry-level home PC (internet, movies, etc.)

Don't go Windows 7 Home Basic, rather pay the little extra and go Premium.

Yeah, I know. I run Ultimate 64-bit. Just looking to do a Christmas push and would leave the Windows selection to the client.

Apart from the OS, what do you think of the actual spec of the machine?

Looks like the perfect office PC, maybe go for a Lite-on DVD drive, those cheap Lg's and samsungs tend to give troubles after a few months.

Power Pro IV
Intel Core2 Duo 2.9Ghz E7500(3MB) CPU
2GB DDR2 RAM
320GB SATA II -7200RPM HDD
Foxconn Professional Case + PSU
DVD Writer +/_ ( 22x) DL (8.5GB)
Onboard sound w/ speakers
19" LG Wide LCD Monitor
Optical Mouse + Keyboard
No OS Included
R 3989 INC. VAT
pcinternational.co.za

Leaves you a few bucks for an OS.

Now that's a good price.

What 19" LCD is that? I have no intention of offering lower than 1440x900.
How much would the shipping be?

I definitely need to get a Samsung HD supplier lined up.

I'll check on the LiteOn. Had them before, no hassles. But no hassles from Samsung/LG/SONY either.

Yes, you did, but I'm sure Silverlight added in the OS (overpriced thing).

Just curious to the LCD specs, etc, that pcint do. I'll give them a call in a bit.

Did some re-shuffling came up with R4895.00. Does that seem better including OS?

Yip, I agree. But as a basic home PC it would work fine. I cannot bring myself to offer the 1366x768 items though.

Iam sure pcint can mix and match the pc. I would go for a better lcd aswell. The samies is cheap.

They're definitely close in price. I'm just trying to fill a gap where I've received some requests.

Might offer the machine with a 23" option. That would work very well for around R500-R600 more.
