Let's face it - the Supersport stream is awful quality!

So, with that in mind, how does one go about optimising it? I have heard of things like deinterlacing and some other technical things that, for example, XBMC applies to SD streams to better the perceived quality.

With the XBMC SS plugin now history (up yours, Supersport), I was wondering if there is a way to apply these tools to the stream from the website using my video card - GT520M. And is there a way to force it so stretch to fill my screen?

And while we're on the topic, how does on get Supersport streaming working on a tablet? I installed Flash but to no avail on any of the browsers...

So disappointing. I was really looking forward to using my tablet as an alternate HTPC...:(

Supersport stream are still in the dark ages. The mere fact that its a single stream quality, is enough to give me grey hairs! Do they not know that the entire market isnt streaming with a 2mb connection?

there should be an auto option, or at least manual selection of bandwidth speeds made available.

tennistv have the auto option, as well as 4 other manual options.

supersport streaming quality simply sucks ass

So is there no way to have one's graphics card forced on when a stream is opened and perform some of the processing xbmc is able to do?

Best thing you could do is hook it up to a Plasma TV... waaaaay more forgiving than a LCD

Cant wait to get home and pop on some tennis which streams at 350 KB/sec

I've only got LCDs at home unfortunately...

Argh. Auto correct be damned. LCDs...

You had me on Google for three mins trying to see if there was a new tech in town - until I realised - nope, he either meant LED or LCD...

I was going to try SS with XBMC - is the quality that bad?

Though, I only watch F1 and I have Sky for that which is good quality...

Supersport no longer works on XBMC. The dstv dicks made sure of that. You can only watch it from their site...

When will you guys learn. Dstv pricks are monitoring this. That's how we lost the plugin. They wait for the innovation and then move to kill it.

Pretty sure the plugin wasn't the problem. The unauthenticated plugin was...

XBMC supports flash so does the DRM module act externally of the stream? I can imagine if that's the case then there'd be an issue authenticating on different operating systems but surely Windows should be able to authenticate by opening a browser in the background?

In regard with DSTV, they should really open up their market potential. Hardware running XBMC, Plex etc. can boost home/business multimedia exponential growth. They can even get more resellers on-board marketing these toolsets. DSTV playing us dumb, limiting choice.
