My bug-bear of late are the meanings of the different flashing modes of the LEDS on the Option Globetrotter 3G+.
I know or assume that the RED and BLUE LEDS double flashing together, at 1 second intervals, means the card has initialised and/or is trying to connect to the network at a hardware level but cannot.
This happened when I inserted a normal Pay-As-U-Go 32K sim into the card which isn't data enabled.

Now the single flashing BLUE LED, at 2 second intervals, I don't understand. I've tried google but can't find info on this condition. In this state your dashboard will not find a network and obviously you cannot connect.
This LED state immediately follows the RED and BLUE double flashing LEDS and lasts for a second or two before it changes to the the double flashing BLUE LED.

The double flashing BLUE LED, at 2 second intervals, means the card has connected to the network at a hardware level, as vodacom3g explained. This condition was manifested with my contract 64K sim inserted irrespective whether there's a Windows driver for the Globetrotter card loaded or whether the dashboard (VMC) is installed. Your card goes into this state while Windows is still loading. Ultimately this means your dashboard/system is ready to connect and should.

What condition or state is the card in when there's a single flashing BLUE LED, at 2 second intervals?
I had this a few times and a PC restart, eject card, reinsert didn't help, well only a few tries later.

Globetrotter 3G+ (HSDPA) LED Sequence

Red indicates GSM (GPRS/EDGE)
Blue indicates UMTS (3G/HSDPA)

Both LEDs flashing together - searching
Both LEDs flashing alternately - card firmware crashed

Single Red flash - GSM Registered
Double Red flash - GPRS connection available
Triple Red flash - EDGE connection available

Single Blue flash - UMTS Registered
Double Blue flash - 3G connection available
Triple Blue flash - HSDPA connection available

The way I understand the above, is that you get connected to the 3G radio network (single flash) but not to the IP network.

Is this SIM enabled for data?

Let me find out more.

My sim is data enabled. Been surfing for close on a year now. :)
Remember J., double flash is connected to radio network. Single flash is a mystery. I don't know whether this is hardware related (Option card or SIM) or whether it's the Network.
Ok just read your post thoroughly. Single flash is UMTS registered but why doesn't it, at times, get to the 3G connection available (double flash)?

Single flash is connected to the radio network, i.e. you're seeing a legit network
Double flash is when you've been attached and your 'Connect button' should come alive.

So the sequence is:

1) Both LEDs flash while the card is searching
2) Single flash when it sees a network
3) Double flash when it attach

How often does this happen and when did it start?

What do you do to get it working (if anything), reboot?

Do you see a network name appear in the dash when single flashing.

Maybe mail me your 3G number and I can get the guys to check your profile.

My sequence is and always has been:

1) Both LEDs flash while the card is searching
2) Single flash when it doesn't see a network
3) Double flash even while windows still boots, even without dash and driver installed.

About half a dozen times altogether, about two weeks ago.

What do you do to get it working (if anything), reboot?
Sometimes a simple eject and reinsert. Other times a cold start or maybe two.

Do you see a network name appear in the dash when single flashing.
No, It'll just sit and "acquire" the whole time with no errors.
