Hi guys,

Last week I signed up for hsdpa through iburst and apart from some admin issues I've been pretty happy with it on windows. However I got the usb Option modem and was told that it would work on linux without issue but it doesnt seem to work the same way as the Huawei modems that I've used and Iburst tech support hasnt been able to tell me anything useful on how to get it to work here :(
Does anybody have any experience or tips on what I can do to get connected on my laptop thats running ubuntu?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Shaun,
I've tried that driver and software but still no luck. Have you been able to find anything else? And I know that this isnt your fault, but i hope you understand my frustration. During my trial week I spoke to 3 different techies at iburst who all assured me that it was as simple as plug and play from any recent ubuntu or fedora release. After trying and failing all the methods that I knew, I asked for a procedure or document explaining the process and obviously since it didnt exist they couldn't assist me.
By that time my trial was over and I was signed up.
So any advice or help would really go a long way here.
Thanks again,
LawrenceZA

Hi Lawrence.

Product has informed me that the device is not ready for Linux.

I will continue searching for a method for you.

Apologies for the hassles to date.

Cheers

Shaun

Thanks a again Shaun.
Do you know whether I would be able to swap my current package for one of the same value that is supported?

Hi Lawrence.

The best guys to talk to are the sales team. They can provide advise for your situation.

Hope this helps
