Hi Guys,

Are the only options to go directly with the likes of Audi and Motorite or similar for extended maintenance plans ? They seem to cost about R50k for 2 years 40000km . I've looked at just warranty options but they cover very little costs if things do break

Motorite plan I took for my A3 is about R380 per month. Far cheaper than Audis FWP. As to how good Motorite is come claim time i don't know... Have heard differing opinions on this.

And that is why the value of the car plummets at the expiration of the maintenance plan. BMW wanted to charge me nearly R2/km to extend my plan. I did some research on the particular model and decided the odds of something major going wrong did not warrant the expense. So to answer your question, the other option is to save some cash to fund the maintenance yourself.

Only had to claim once so far, on my motorite plan for my i20.

They paid out the full amount stated in the policy. This was for the clutch which they cover for R3000, cost was R3500. So I paid R500 for a new clutch.

I did hear some bad experiences about Motorite before.
