Ordered do1...help me choose which modem

Hi

I ordered DSL384 yesterday on do1 and I'm doing the self install so I get a free modem. I made a thread to ask which modem I must take, the USB or WiFi one and it was made clear the WiFi one is the one to get. Now what I wanna know is, is there only just the one WiFi modem I can choose from or what? If not, which one is best?

As you can tell I'm a DSL n00b so take pity and help a brother out..;)
 
So I take it theres only ONE WiFi modem you can choose, not different models or anything? Just one standard Telkom WiFi modem?
 
From Telkom I suspect its only one. All of their stuff is with 4 ethernet connections right? Noob as well bro. I feel your pain :D I must have had 15 threads to get myself started. Ask hj2k_x and Syndyre - they were my go to guys :) Very helpful bunch as well as the rest of our forum! You'll get there!
 
It is 2 modems they offer. One that is quite regular is the black one and the other is the Premium Combo (white). Both wifi. ;)

thats the drawback of self-install - they don't always test your line.

but in your case its good!

modems that they provide:

*telkom 5102G - black router - good
*mega 100WR - black " - also not 2 bad - just a bit more iq required to grasp router.
premium combo - white router - don't like it
marconi 4 port - white router - good

those are the 4 the i've seen in recent times going out.* mostly

I'm just trying to help, but there is more than one router/modem Telkom offers.
 
Ok I'm done posting here :D Getting muddled by all the techno info! Plus still waking up and having to go and put another night-shift in D:

Woah:eek:, my brain is whacked from a long day so Ill take a look at this thread tomorrow when Im a bit more fresh.
 
Well guys I picked up my Mega 100WR today and its actually pretty sexy looking. But I dunno if the Telkom guy converted the line to ADSL yet. So my question is can I just set up the oncen in the meantime while I wait for the line to be activated? Also do I really need that splitter thing? the modem does comes with a filter.
