So I just ordered an ADSL line from Telkom for my new place. The only reason i am worried is because I'm in a complex in Midrand and I've heard people have had trouble getting lines into their complex.

Anyone had recent experience with this?

Please give me the number that you called. I have called 10210 to order a new line from scratch and keep getting passed around. I have sent 3 emails, and still no call back. Been like this for a week and a half now.

I went into the Telkom shop in Eastgate. Took about half an hour of filling in my forms, waiting in line and then being processed. Overall a fairly good experience so far...

Is this for the standard line rental plia the adsl line? I went through to my local direct shop gave my details and was told i would be called back.. Week and a half ago.

Bwahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahhahaha I swear if wireless was cheaper and less ping....i would take it in a heartbeat.

I got an answer from Telkom today that there are no ports available for me. When I asked what the estimated waiting time is, I was told between 2-3 months!

Not at all happy about that. I often struggle to understand these big companies. Install new ports and increase customers, isn't that what their focus is? Yet they rather have me wait. If I had an alternative option to ADSL I would be very interested...

I feel your pain. I was also told 2-3 months every 2-3 months. Eventually took me 6 months to get an open port. Good luck.

Are you f***ing serious? What area is that?

I am moving to Midrand, I figured with all of the housing and businesses that are there Telkom would have the infrastructure to handle anything. I can't believe they just tell us to wait. I understand getting more ports may not be as easy as plugging in some new hardware but it is their core business and they should be handling these things far better.

We had a prepaid line ordered telkom simple because the guy told me it would work out cheaper been a week still no word on installation didn't even get a order number now that's what I call service
