So... Lets say I stay in a Security Complex, about 2 years old... Where do I start if I want to check if the complex has telkom lines, and supports ADSL? Who do I call?grin... I'm not really in a mood to phone telkom and be redirected 10 times to get through to the right department, so I figured someone here could rather direct me in the right directions :)

just a heads up but it took telkom 7 months to install my adsl line so be prepared for a wait

If you're in a secure complex your body corporate would be the place to start I'd imagine? The place may well be being managed by a company and they should have a plaque somewhere or a number you can contact.

A lot of complexes don't have phone lines installed to start with so you'll probably have to order a fresh new one from Telkom (shop is easy)

Yeah, having just gone through the ring moral, I recommend heading to your local Telkom shop. I had the phone number of director of my shareblock (who obviously is in the same block as me) so I tested his number on Telkom's exchange tester. Try find someone in the same complex with a landline, either that or phone 10219 and endure the terrible hold music and tell them your address, they should be able to tell you whether or not you're area is supported.

Going into a Telkom shop will be a start. As I understand, though, they can't check EXACTLY if you will be able to get access. They will refer the question to a technician, and you will hopefully get a response saying Yay or nay
