ordering online from builders warehouse

Hi,

As per the title , has anybody ordered from builders online ? How was the experience or should i just go to the store and buy ?

Ordered some gutters from them

They arrived 3 days later. The items looked like they had been in the yard outside and shat on a few times. Really bad shape. Didn't accept them and was refunded 5days later

But the online shop part works well enough

A friend of mine went to buy some pole droppers for me a few months ago
5 long 2.4m ones
Price was R55 each
He got to the checkout counter and the price in store was over 100 bux each
He was like WTF

Told the 55 bux ea is for online only
So he logged onto Builders and bought 5 droppers there
Option to Collect
Processed the transaction
Took the droppers and left

We are still dumbfounded how this works but I am happy

Don’t do it. They can’t deliver, won’t find stock, delays, wrong thing, can’t solve. You’ll end up going to the store five times instead of just once. If you schit in your own hand, it will be a better experience than buying online with them.

Yes they the most expensive and worst service. So I would not have high expectations of their online shop

Mixed bag. Some orders went really well (delivering hinges ~12 hours after I ordered them), some not so well (they phoned me to say the system shows they have stock of what I ordered, but someone must've stolen it).

I use them for online only specials and then collect in store, even though you stand and wait 15 minutes and wait for them to locate your item that is "ready for collection". But this might just be my local Builders Express.

Chamberlains. Think they do online. Dont know if it is just for people close to their shops and they deliver themselves
