Don’t do it. They can’t deliver, won’t find stock, delays, wrong thing, can’t solve. You’ll end up going to the store five times instead of just once. If you schit in your own hand, it will be a better experience than buying online with them.

Ordered a washing machine from them online. Got delivered and installed. No problem.

screwdriver sets and basic tools like side cutters etc.Takealot have but normally they are fong kong no name brand tools.If i could find an online shop that sells decent tools then i would order online.

Also try Leroy Merlin. Not sure which tool brands they sell but at least their website and ordering system works.

Tried this morning to order light switches to collect at my local Builders because they are not in stock, and just keep getting "failed to place an order". This then clears out the cart and you have to start again.

Answer to question - Builders online works. Never had issue with delivery.

Tried it once and it wasn't great as the store I ordered from "had stock stolen". This after me having to call them a week after ordering to ask where the stuff is. They eventually located it at another store and had it delivered the next day. So there's that.

if you paid with a credit card go on your bank website and log a goods not received complaint that will likely help

I ordered 2 water tanks from Builders on 20 March that had to be specially ordered. All happened smoothly and delivered a few days before the deadline. There wasn't any communication between the order and delivery, but they did what they promised when I ordered.

Leroy Merlin have been difficult every time I've ordered from them. Always late and always out of stock even though when I order the items are in stock.
I'm now in search of independent hardware stores that can assist, they just never have a nice catalogue to work from.

Ordered a compressor but couldn't get delivery to my area, so chose the instore pickup option. Received a message around midday that it was ready for collection, so I sent a courier only for them to be told that the order was not ready as it was out of stock.

Some back and forth emails with blame being passed around. Two days later I was told it's ready for pickup again only for the courier to be told it's not there. Luckily I asked them to wait while I called the person I was dealing with from their head office. A few minutes later the courier calls me back and says they are busy loading it.

Suppose I should be happy that I got it, but I will definitely be shopping elsewhere unless there is something very specific I need that only they have.
