Original Deeds required for property transfer?

I would like to believe this and not have to seek a second (or another) opinion but over many certain matters they just do things or interpret things the way it has always been done and not necessarily how it should really be or how it now is.
I totally get it. Actually meant a second opinion. Got the impression that the thread followed from discussions with one already.

If the original is lost then the conveyancer will follow the Regulation 68(1) process, it should not cause a delay as the newspaper advertisement runs for two weeks and you can place this as soon as you receive your Regulation 68(1) copy from the Deeds Office which takes a couple of days.

Fun Fact: The Deeds Office code for a certified copy of a Title Deed is a VA which is short for "Verlore Afskrif".

You recall I had this exact case. The news add’s was running for 2 months. A cash buy took 6 months to register on my side.

A bit OT,

I am in the process of selling most of my properties. My circumstances have changed, and I don't need no tenants and their BS in my life anymore.

The latest one that I got a buyer for, I went to sign and hand over the title deed at the attorney's office, etc. The following week, I am informed by the agent that the buying couple who co-signed are moering each other. Big kak in their relationship.

I was just like meh, wtf is new in my life? Nothing shocks me anymore. Always something to go wrong somewhere. It is what it is.

In the week, I get a WA asking about a property that is for rent with the link, from an agent, asking if it is my property. True AF it is.

I ask the agent selling the place for an update. She informs me that the couple buying my place are fscked, they cannot pull out of the deal anymore. So they immediately put the place up for rent, with the rent coming to me till registration is done at the deeds office. Then they will sell it again while getting divorced. LMFAO.

Aaah life.
