OS X dock

What'sthe difference between the three? I have AWN at present, but don't really use it.

I just tried out AWN and Cairo. While Cairo has so many cool options, AWN was the winner on look alone. So I've deleted my lower gnome panel and replaced it with AWN. I love the 3d turn that the icons do when you hover over them and the spotlight effect is also quite cool. I never liked the OSX dock on Macs before, but now I can't imagine going back to the Windows style start bar.

Does anyone know of a OSX dock that I can install in Kubuntu? I want to be able to easily add applications to the dock.

Go all the way to OSX

Just spent and hour doing all of this. Here what I found:

-Installing avant-window-navigator-trunk, awn-manager-trunk, awn-extras-applets-trunk doesn't work on the latest 8.04. Incompatible libraries , or some such thing. I just went with the avant-window-manager from the repositories and skipped the Stacks applet.

-AWN only works if you can enabled advanced graphics settings (i.e. compiz) , so if you have an old graphics card or you're running over a terminal, it won't work. (No error, just crashes :()

- Global Menu Bar is a bit hit-and-miss. Works for some apps (File Browser), but not for others (Firefox, Open Office).

Overall it's definitely an improvement over default Ubuntu

Am i missing something or does AWN only run on the botom of the screen, might consider replacing cairo but i want that dock at the top. Cairo is treating me well i must say.
