Wifi Issue after installing OS X Yosemite. The connection lasts only 10-20 seconds. MBA MID 2011 model.
Have to then Turn-off and then Turn back on Wifi.
Anyone else experience issues?

Tried several things however still not resolving issue;
- Deleted all locations and added a new location
- Deleted all preferred networks, re-added network
- Renewed DHCP Lease
- Deleted and added Wifi connection
- Deleted System Configuration folder

Any suggestions. Had no wifi issues with OS X Mavericks

Same config, but on Yosemite Beta 6, not having the same issues. I did notice that the wifi icon complains of no internet access with an exclamation mark (even though it has connectivity and works) when I add PPPoE sessions. However, if I remove the PPPoE sessions, the icon's behaviour is normal again.

Took into the Apple store and the internet connection was fine over their wifi, with no issues.
They suggested i change to a static IP which didn't resolve either.

Looks like an issue with my MWEB Billion Router. However windows PC and iPhones working fine over Wifi.

It is this kind of thing that annoys about Apple but anyways - these WiFi issues are no stranger to some routers. I'd suggest changing the protocol on the router to WEP and as many of b/g/n as the router will allow. If this works, then start one by one improving your wifi setup.

As soon as i updated to Yosemite, my wifi drops every few seconds - I then need to go and switch my wifi off, then on again - It stays connected for a couple of seconds and drops again. Please help guys!! My wifi worked perfectly when i was running Mavericks (I'm clueless when it comes to network configuring)

I did not have the issue at the apple store and do not have any issues when connecting to the company network. Wifi has no issues.
So just at home with the Billion Router (MWEB), and all other devices work perfectly. Let me know if you find a solution.

Changed router setting to WEP, which didn't resolve. Not sure where to change this - as many of b/g/n as the router will allow. (Not an IT person :) )

Ok, you would've seen that b/g/n setting if it was available. If I remember the billion interface, it is under advanced => Configuration =>Wireless and the option is called Mode.

I had the same issue on my MBP after upgrading. What worked for me was disabling Handoff to iCloud Devices under System Preferences.

Also have the Billion W40. Just checked and doesn't stay on WEP. Still shows as WPA-PSK even after saving the config and reflecting successful on WEP. Have 802.11b+g, 802.11b and 802.11g. Tried all 3, but doesn't help.
Don't have Handoff on this model listed under General on System Preferences.

Did you click apply?

Look, I have had issues with my MBP and this particular router series. Below, my settings - ymmv. YELLOW indicates settings panel.

(1) I have b/g but this is where you would experiment. Later models support n as well.
(2) Channel can also be a bugger. Some TV re-transmitters and microwaves and other sources of EMF interfere with wireless signals so try changing channels. Especially if other networks are visible - find a channel that they are not using.
(3) What is your firmware version

You could also try disabling security entirely to see if that makes a difference. After changing None/WPA/Wep setting, press apply then save config then restart.
