Forget about Neotel, Telkom’s nationwide rival. The next 18 months will see SA municipalities providing perhaps a more formidable challenge to Telkom by offering cheaper, wireless and, crucially, local telecom services.

I'm living in joburg and i dont get anything.. While people everywhere else(knysna, pretoria, durban, cape etc etc) are starting to get all these planned services.. wtf is joburg municipality doing?

Trying to figure out how to explain how they overcharged the entire Ekuruleni metro 200% in electricity. They've been caught, and now heads must roll.

Other honest municipalities can get on with the job, ours is busy shredding documents.

As long as they keep Telkom out of the network we should see massive, err monumental savings. I don't like the statement:

“We could eventually partner Telkom,” Du Plessis says.

Keep Telkom far out of it and rather get businesses to build it in competition to Melkom.

I Live in PTA North but I don't get coverage of the muni connection, even though PTA North is covered. Maybe just out of reach.
