Hi guys

I have a problem with my Outlook program at home when I'm sending mails. I can receive mails- no prob. It's just when I want to send it shows an error. Something about Outlook not being able to find the address book.

I used to run it on Win XP but now I running on Windows 7. Could it be the change in the OS or what do guys think??:wtf:

I use my vodamail on the program. Set the Incoming server to "pop3.vodamail.co.za" and Outgoing server to "smtp.vodamail.co.za

I have not had anyone using 2000 office with 7, only 2007/2010.

Perhaps it is a compatibility problem.
Posting on cellphone, so difficult to search right now.

I just looked at my outlook 2007 and it had no problems with a 082******@vodamail.co.za , just maybe manual add the account again?

Yah but I'm using 2000. I checked on the web...it's a compatibility problem that it has with the later versions of windows. I'll just have to upgrade I guess.;)

omw sorry thought it was 2007, yea time for a upgrade:P

If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate, you can install it in Windows XP Mode so it will run in a windows XP virtual PC. Once you've installed in XP Mode you should be able to run it as a virtual application that looks like it's running from your normal desktop.

The only other thing I can think of that you could try is playing with the compatibility settings for the application (if you right click on an executable file, choose properties there is a compatibility tab with options to run in compatible mode for older windows versions.)

I'm not sure whether setting the main outlook executable to compatible mode would help. If not, you could uninstall and run the setup program in compatible mode (you may have to copy the installation files to your hard drive or a memory stick to get the comptibility options.)

If none of the above, try an open source alternative like Thunderbird before you part with your cash for an upgrade.
