Hi,
When starting up Outlook 2007 each time it says that it never shutdown correctly and scans all ost's and pst's which is a pain.

I know this is caused as Outlook runs in task manager perfoprming maintenance once you close Outlook.
I want to close my Outlook at the end of the day and shutdown, (as emails are the last thing I check).

I know this is a common problem, so was wondering if there is a solution for this problem?

Thanks

I have the same problem with Outlook 2003. I think it has something to do with getting mail from my gmail account as it did not happen before I added that.

ipod /itunes software can hold outlook open, even when it has closed down. You can see it still running in the task manager.

Remove the add-ins.

.

Outlook 2007 sometimes take up to 1 minute to close normally. In that minute you probably shutdown your pc and windows force it shut.
Next time you start, it gives you that error.

Solution: Wait about 30sec to 1min for Outlook to close normally, then shutdown.

Quite right but there is another solution: dont close outlook, just shut down your machine - I know it seems 'wrong' but try it out, it works!
