Hey Guys.

Question: I got a mates laptop. Her Outlook stopped downloading her gmail as it kept asking for a password. Even if you put the right password in, you can connect on the browser using the password, it still wont connect, still brings up the whole enter password thing. I uninstalled Office, re-installed and it did the same thing. Then I tried with Thunderbird, doing the same thing. I seriously don't know what the hell!!!! I've tried Manually updating ports and servers. I am going mad. Any Ideas as to what to do?:confused::confused:

HELP!!! Pretty please

Did she enable 2FA for her account? If so then ^^^ , you need to create an application specific password and use it for the mail client. Also cross check the port numbers you are trying to connect to, I've see a case where login fails and it was due to port number issues (pop imap)

Google recently started requiring users to specifically indicate that you want "less-secure" apps to access the account.

This is BS of course, it is because of rivalry between the companies that they want to portray the other companies' competing products as being worse than their own.

Yeah, checked all that. Also manually did the ports etc,. Nada. The thing that gets me is it was working fine, then just stopped. She wouldnt even know where to find the Settings on her Gmail...
