Having an issue as follows.

Have Outlook 2003 as mail client for 4 mail addresses. When mail is sent from any of the addresses (default setting is HTML format) with or with out attachments the recipients recieve the message as follows (and with no attachments):

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

Content-Type: text/plain;
charset="us-ascii"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

*whole bunch of stuff*

The mail in the sent items folder appears as originally intended, but all recipients are recieving all mails sans attachments and in the above format.

I have checked all the mail settings in Outlook against other Outlook installs that have no problems and there is no difference.

What could the problem possibly be?

It looks to me as if i) the recipients cannot support html messages or ii)somewhere Outlook is messing up the message sending format somewhere.

Recipients can definitely support HTML format messages as they have no problem receiving these from other senders.

I would assume ii) as well, but cannot seem to find the cause. Have been through all of the settings, have Googled (but all similar cases are centred around the recipient having the problem) and tried the various MS resources to no avail.

Very frustrating.

Is the environment Exchange or Internet based?
(please provide details of either enviroment: exchange version or internet server)
Problem could be on the outgoing mail server side.

Other than that:
Start from the top... Delete the old profile. Close Outlook. Run Outlook from the command line using the following switch: "Outlook /firstrun". Create a new profile with only one mail account. Send a test message. Also send a message to a web based e-mail system like gmail to test further.

If all else fails: Uninstall and Reinstall Office/Outlook.
