Hello,

Someone at my office is having problem with her office outlook 2003.

It keeps asking for her password. I've googled some sollutions but nothing actually worked. It seems her profile might've become corrupted or something.

Would any of you guys be able to tell me, would it have helped if I re-installed outlook?

Cheers

Are you able to log into her pc and then access your mail from it ? (confirm its not a network issue)
Is she able to access outlook web access with the same password ?
Have you tried making a new outlook profile ?
Perhaps her pc lost trust with the domain controller , remove her pc from the domain and add it again ?

Let us know your findings.

Isn't this usually a case of getting the account admininistrator to reset her network logon password - that's what we do here if this happens to our Outlook - it often happens after the user has changed their monthly password, and forgets to enter the correct one - lockout happens after 3 unsuccessful tries in our company...

Sounds like an authentication issue. Are you running Exchange? If you cancel the prompt, does Outlook still load up? If it does, on the bottom right does it say 'Disconnected'? Tell her to type in the password she uses when she logs in to her computer. If that doesn't work, recreate the Profile and test. Profiles get corrupted often in Outlook unfortunately.

Yeah I recon it is her profile, but man is it a schlep to recreate her profile. I am a user of thunderbird myself so am still learning how to properly support this **** lol. I've tried re creating her profile but now her mail has got 2 separate inboxes.

Just to clarify, we tried resetting her mail password. It never stops asking for her password, but each time she enters it she is able to get her mails.
It usually asks for her password every time she closes outlook
