@outlook problem

So i signed up for a @outlook email account a couple of weeks ago, I haven't used it for a while but wish to do so now.

Try login in, it say's password is incorrect, go reset password, then try login and it says email address doesnt exist

I'm guessing it wants an alternate email address to send to when you've forgotten your outlook password. Obviously it's pointless to send to the outlook address ...

no i re-set the password, it sends the code to my phone. But it won't let me login in still?

Or they want the email address in order to know which account you want to reset...
