My rolls are loose standing. I twirl off what I need and the roll then rests on the window sill next to me.

There is an inherent gender bias in the question, depending on whether you are in the standing or seated position: One favours the over, the other favours under, purely in terms of the length and dexterity of your arms.
Not sure how this matches the fact that men only need the paper when seated whereas women are (almost always sitting). I certainly have noted whether over or under and related to who replaces the roll: when men do it, under seems the favourite.

NB This one could get out of hand!

Much too WOKE!

Under because the toilet is right up next to the roll.

Many years ago it was "tested" ( don't know how) that concluded less being used if over....

Actually, both can be correct. For 2-ply, over, because both sides are soft and smooth. For single ply, under, because as you fold it the smooth side does the wiping. If you hang single ply paper over, you gonna sandpaper your butt.

Stop being poor and buy 2-ply.

Why would you need toilet paper if you're standing?
I actually read that some people stand up to clean themselves.
I don't quite understand it myself, but apparently it's a thing.
