Over or under inflation?

Thanks, It a ford focus and when my mother bought the car new it been "beefed up" a bit with big '18' wheels.:o She was told the car had been used in a stand on show. So maybe they did mess around with the camber. And don't worry, nobody is driving the car at the moment :)

I thought as much. :)
The rear tyres are those ones with the bird foot pattern. The grip well but don't last as the rubber is soft.
The low profile tyres look good. Our one car from what I can see in your picture has the same size rim. I have a set of Michelin's (Eco Contact or something) on them which gave me 50-60K on the front and the rear ones are still fine.
Hi-Q keeps them. Let me know if you want and I can look for the code on the tyre for you.

Wow! Thats is the second set, and the car has 60k on the clock:eek::o And Yeah, could you please :cool::D

Before I check (my daughter has the car and is at College) could you please give me the size. Thanks.

The camber could be out because they put after market suspension and or shocks in the car, MacPherson strut is very sensitive to such changes. You can look here for more info:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacPherson_strut

Btw. over inflated tires would cause wear in the middle whereas under inflated tires would cause wear on the ouside (both sides)

Also according to Hayness car manual uneven wear is caused by either a combination or one of these:

* Incorrect Camber or castor -> Repair/renew suspension parts
* Malfunctioning suspension -> Repair/renew suspension parts
* Unbalanced Wheel -> Balance tires
* Incorrect toe setting -> Adjust front wheel alignment

Not sure aftermarket tires would cause the problem tho, seems unlikely (unless something happened to the mags).

EDIT: btw. Did you check the shocks? (IE. is there oil coming out?)

Thanks for all the advise, I thinks its best that we send the car in and see what they think.:)
