Hi all

I need a bit of help with overclocking this CPU. I have an ASUS M3A-H/HDMI mobo, a Zalman CNPS7000C CPU cooler and 2 * Transcend JetRam DDR2-800 running in dual channel.

I really need to know how I should approach overclocking this CPU... Should I raise the FSB and lower the multiplier or should I leave/lower the FSB and raise the multiplier? Should I raise the CPU voltage? Do I need to tweak my RAM?

I am pretty new to overclocking but have overclocked my old 4200+ before so any help would be much appreciated.

All the overclockers here are into intel at the moment but will change with the Phenom ii's i hope.

Google is an overclockers friend so no idea why peeps do not use it more :)

ok, well it's MUCH easier to just raise the multiplier then the volts... go step by step and take it slow(raise the clock by 100mhz increments) . if the cpu fails to boot in to windows, don't be alarmed, the cpu just needs more volts, you should hit a wall @ around 120/130% overclock. Never overclock the ram and bus, I learned that the hard way as I overclocked my Ddr 400 to 500mhz and the ram fried itself...

OH! and be prepared for something to fail, I know this won't build your confidence, but because of the nature of overclocking, you put strain on very part(cpu, ram etc).
But try leave your ram out of it if you can, those suckers love getting fried.

oh, and don't raise the volts to high, if you every get the feeling that you overclocking to high, you probably are ;)
