Overclocking the Intel E2160

hmmm... i think you should leave you're overclock at where it is, until you get some after market cooling... remember, overclocking is a dark art... sometimes, you'll be smiling like just happy that you got a great overclock, but then you could be crying because it just fried...

I myself have been hit by my own hand, because i was pushing my gpu to far, and the ram modules went... I have also fried my computers ram, by overclocking it from 200mhz to 223 mhz (ddr 400 to ddr 446)

Overclocking is done by the seat of you're pans... If you it doesn't feel right then it's most likely not right... also remember that even though all you're friends, and all the review websites might have gotten outrageous overclocks, and there's are all stable, you might just push you're 1.8ghz cpu to 2.0ghz and fry you're cpu...

But, best of luck, make sure you're cpu stays cool, as i think by every 10c decrease, you double the life, which sucks for us it hot ass SA

My bios does not have 266 x 2.5 .. only 266 x 2.66 = DDR 707

I went and looked at the Bios last night to see if i was losing my head, mine does have a 2.5 multiplier, but for some reason they did not put it in a sensible order (2.33, 2.5, 2.66, 3), it goes like this rather (2.33, 2.66, 3, 3.33, 2.5 etc). Just run through all the options, maybe it's just hiding.

My one machine has a E4300 @ 333Mhz x 9 = 2.997. Temps are around 34 on stock cooling. 100% stable, no voltage increases.

you're = you are, the word you're looking for is your.

Nope no 2.5

What about overclocking the 2160 on a Asus p3n-e with ddr2 800 ram? From wat i've read its a great mobo.
