Overrated cars

Every new car after 10-15000Km, thats roughly when the new shocks and suspension goes into its following stage till the shocks start leaking or some other components wear out slightly but not fully fails, thats when you realise its just another tinbox with plastics, if it has bloutooth, one could argue that works or it don't under gurantee..If you lucky it makes 150-300000Km like this given good roards of travel.

I largely agree with you regarding most BMWs past say 2008, even E90s are pretty horrible. However the M-cars from the late 90s through late 00s are true drivers' cars.

I don't deny that BMWs in general have a huge following, and the M-cars in particular. It's just that they have never appealed to me personally. The closest that I ever came was when I gave a 1M Coupe a second look, and that quickly fizzled out when I considered what else I could buy for the price.

Personally, I have a preference for understated performance, which rules out a good many vehicles, Ford Raptor probably tops the list.

Lada and anything made or assembled in Eastern Europe

UK friend had a Lada for 2 years
It leaked water through the ill-fitting doors
The exhaust pipe was secured by a flimsy bracket which rusted through
3 wheel nuts per wheel. The bolt was so short that if you were not careful, it stripped

I disagree, No other hatcback on the market drives as nice as a polo, built solidly like a Polo, or even ages as gracefully as a Polo. The polo honestly feels like it is a class above its competetition.

Why did you sell it. They are beautiful cars. 3 of the V8s in my street.

Had it on order and it arrived the Friday, the Saturday I found out my then gf now ex-wife was pregnant. This was in 2016 so there was a lot of hype around it arriving in SA. Did a few line lock burnouts and sold it for a markup to a dealership.

The prices are not bad. I paid like R800k something in 2016. The new Raptor has had 2 price increases since it launched here. Crazy.

Even the newer ones to be honest. Used to have a 2018 M6 competition. That 4.4l twin turbo V8 was a dream

BMWs, all of them. I consistently fail to see what the great attraction is.
And Audis, especially the SUVs.

To be fair to BMW. They make some of the best engines in select models. N52, M57, S58, s63 to name a few. Heck the b58 is so good even Toyota is using it.
