Hope someone can help, I have the old bigger box OVHD decoder and it works perfect from my 100cm fibreglass dish with old big DSTV smart LNB (LMX500) - cable from the universal port on this LNB. This cable is max 8 meters. This is at my holiday home.
So I bought myself a new OVHD decoder, the small little one that uses the memory stick as PVR function for my main home.
I have a 100cm fibreglass dish with LMX501 smart LNB at my main home (not using the universal port currently) I plugged the small OVHD decoder into the normal SATCR port from this LMX501 LNB and obviously it does not scan the channels. So I didn't feel like climbing on the roof to swop the cables to activate my decoder, I simply took this decoder to my holiday home and plugged it in place of my older OVHD decoder. On my TV, it shows the scanning part then the blue screen of the TV when it loses signal and it carries on like that indefinitely, on and off, on and off. So my question is ...
1. Is this little decoder not powerfull enough to power the LNB and push a decent signal to my TV?
2. What can be done to rectify this problem?
3. Are there any settings I can do to this little decoder to use the satcr cable?
