Looking at a low ping product just for gaming both WoW and Rift, and still able to download the odd series episode.

Been using Webafrica trail account and been getting great 170ms-220ms.

Is the Openweb 4Mbps LITE Uncapped viable for this?

Budget is about the R500-R700 mark.

go for mweb, lite also good, but you in that throttle group, you pretty much screwed.

i take you are in cpt? then you get very good pings on wow region of 180ms or less.

Cape Town gets everything these days...fast internet, Helen Zille...Table Mountain!

Hi There, i have gone from AXXESS uncapped unshaped @ R20/Gb to the Openweb Lite 4Mbps uncapped.

With Axxess i had 500-700ms pings to Darkspear-EU... since i have changed i now get an average of 250-350ms pings...

The only thing is that once you have logged on the connection takes about 2-3 minutes to "settle" and thereafter it is smooth sailing...

The best move i have ever made...

a little bit more in detail...

I used to have my account with AXXESS. they were fantastic, unshaped at R20/Gb. and i got 450-550ms ping to Darkspear-EU.

But it got a bit expensive couse i was downloading about 50Gb/month. wich works out to R1000 just for data!

I then decided to go uncapped and i stumbled upon OpenWeb Uncapped Lite.
have a look here (http://www.openweb.co.za/index_uncapped.asp)
it is the Package: 4Mbps LITE Uncapped - Data Account Only
"Uncapped LITE, The account is UNSHAPED.
Why Lite?

If you are a gamer, and do not download 24 / 7, Lite offers you unshaped ADSL access, which allows you to enjoy the benefits of the internet without being slowed down. VOIP works Great. Don't get us wrong, P2P and torrents will be a breeze, until you enter the 20% bracket, upon which they will be drastically shaped."

I have done a average of 175Gb per month and I am getting 250-350ms pings in WoW!

and the package only costs R495 per month unshaped and uncapped ... i am really impressed.
