Good day everyone, i want to find out if its possible to open a new account with Telkom for my business while im still owing them for another.

They want your ID
So use someone else's
Why do you owe anyway, is it a dispute?

Telkom is one of the most reputable SOEs in SA and never, ever make mistakes, charge you double, cut you off for no reason, allow their techies to drop their ladder through your garage roof (I am sorry sir, it slipped) and then tell you 3 months after that there is no record

Its because i couldn't pay my account during the Lockdown and the rent expenses on the side too it was just too much. Problem is i run a Cybercafe now i don't have internet access at my business because of the debt.

...one last thing, should i cancel the contract that im owing? So that it doesn't keep adding to the debt since they keep sending me invoices every month and the money is going up but im not using their services.

You are liable for the full contract amount, even when cancelling.

That's how contracts work.
You need to pay it in order to restore services, or use another provider and pay Telkom when you are able.

What suggestions do you have that are better and cheaper than Telkom and also reliable

Literally ANYTHING else...

Get fibre from the numerous other providers. Unless only OpenServe is available, 'cos then you're fukked.

Where are you based?

Look for a WISP in your area.
You should get good speeds and uncapped data for slightly more you pay Telkom.
Cheaper isn't better. The quality of the service and support is better.

If you can get Fibre though then Bob's your uncle.

[I took your suggestion and this is what i got.
