Ozark [Spoilers]

To be honest, I felt kinda underwhelmed. I actually ended up enjoying the behind-the-scenes/making-of piece at the end of Season 4 more than the actual season itself.

Whenever I'm dissatisfied with the ending of a show I always think of what Vince Gilligan said during his time with Breaking Bad. "You have to nail the landing, or risk undermining all the work up to that point."
 
My only disappointment is that they killed off the best character so even if the "open ended" finale creates a spinoff, it won't be the same.

Since she's been getting all these imaginings I won't be surprised her demise was one of them although it will be a bit of a tough sell if they decide to move forward with her.

The ending is good in that this story with the cartel sister is just warming up and can go places.

The Marty kid is smart enough to take over as family patriarch now that he's effectively "become a man".

Good stuff.
 
I loved the series.

But the final bit was kind of lacking or a let down in the writing and character progression for the kids.
Them, especially Charlotte wanting to go with their Grandfather, was a quick turnaround that didn't seem to fit how she was handling everything.

Jonah was estranged, but still up to no good.
Charlotte was still helping out with the foundation and the casino.
So I don't get how quickly she turned to want to go with her Grandfather.

I don't mind Ruth being killed off, someone had to go.
But the way they shot that scene really felt lacklustre. Empty and devoid of really taking me on the ride and emotion of it all.

Bateman didn't either get the best out of the 2 actors or the script was lacking for Ruth's send off.

The final scene held up.

There really shouldn't be a spin off series, unless it's brilliant.
Leave it be, I say.
 
Very good series I enjoyed everything about it … well done Ozark
