Hi guys...so they had a guy from www.theozonecompany.co.za on Talk 702 yesterday and he was talking all bout Ozone and the applications thereof. Was AMAZING the stories he had with people that were told they going to loose their foot cause of a bad infection that does not want to go away but then got treated with Ozone and kept the foot etc.

They also do O3 Gel (which is Ozonated Olive Oil) and the applications for this seems brilliant. I have this spot on my right temple that I think I am going to try this stuff on.

Any of u guys using it or other Ozone related products and any feedback perhaps?

WARNING: OZONE IS DANGEROUS WHEN INHALED! ;)

Ozone has been regarded as a cure all for almost any disorder. Some of the claims sound very much like snake oil remedies to me.

The one application that I can vouch for is that ozone kills/dispels odours.
We have an ozone generator at home. There is absolutely no odours from cooking in the kitchen (since no odour, no flies) A car that has been smoked in gets a clean smell very quickly.
I've read about using an ozone generator to treat swimming pool water and would like to try it. However, the supplier from whom we obtained our generator no longer exists.

Google has lots of topics on ozone. Very interesting topic.

My Dad has an ozoneator in his pool.

Uses about 2 cups of Chlorine a month and it stays blue.

Well even the FDA have categorised Ozone Therapy as a fraud.

It is a complete scam - there is absolutely no evidence that it works, not from any scientific perspective. In fact when placed under scientific scrutiny, it fails dreadfully. Don't be scammed by this nonsense, nor this company.

To put it into perspective, criminal proceedings have been instituted against ozone generator companies for fraudulently misrepresenting their products and for intentionally scamming people. Just check out the numerous quackwatch articles about this scam...

Ja...I have done lots of reading on the subject before. Cant remember now how I got onto the subject in the first place. There are many that is saying the FDA is covering up the potential of Ozone for medical use as it could could be a treatment that would put pressure on many drug company profits blah blah blah. On 702 yesterday many people phoned in telling of their personal experience and gave very high praize (jeez..how do you spell that?) to ozone products?

Hospitals use Ozone to disinfet operating theatres also. I think there is definately something to it. Well, Dischem is selling the Ozoned Gel for R100.00. Ill give it a try and see if it works. If it does not then its not a fortune I have lost. If it does...FANTASTIC. :-)

Just out of interest...there aparently are doctors in SA that does Ozone therapy where they take some of your blood...infuse it with Ozone and then inject it back into you. Interesting.

Oh right, it's a conspiracy. Don't you think that if this therapy worked, the drug companies themselves would be the first to patent it and promote it?

Praise. ;)

There are also people in this world who swear blind that crystals heal, that chakra alignment works, that dream catchers provide sound sleep, that homoeopathy trumps science, that their scientology machines really do cure cancer etc. This burden of proof thing never seems to work out well for any of them. Including ozone therapy, which has been rigorously tested and found to be complete and utter quackery. This has even been tested in court, occie, and people have gone to jail for it...

Are you talking about a few that were conned into using oxygenated water or the ozone disinfectant machines? You realise that they still add the disinfectant to the water mixture? I mean what level of retardation must one achieve before common sense takes over? I'm referring to the hospital administrators here. BTW, it's not just oxygenated water - they add titanium and copper to the mix...;)

So they're oxygenating your blood? Well yes, that might actually be good for you. But that's all they're doing - the ozone bit is bunk pseudoscience.

And for every "doctor" doing this, there is another one throwing bones and promising the growth of your dong to 40 inches with prayer anda few of the colonel's secret herbs and spices.

And interesting that they use olive oil here - olive oil is actually good for your skin for the most part. You're throwing R100 down the drain. A bottle of olive oil costs R30 at the store - you don't need extra virgin here...;)

Not coming up for ozone but you trust the FDA? They are the biggest fraud.

As far as I can throw them. The court cases, the studies, the articles by researchers, doctors and lawyers, the quackwatch write-ups and the anecdotal evidence thrown out of the water - well those I do trust...

But it dont have no Ozone in it! :-(

I wonder then why 702 went with it and gave this guy so much airtime. I actually want to see if I can download the podcast from their site and listen to it properly...I was busy doing claims while listing to it on my phone and only got bits and pieces of it.

Tnx for the link DJ...will give it a read tonight.

Ozone clinics should start handing out power balance bracelets to new customers.

702 have had many "alternative medicine" frauds on their shows. Just because they give them airtime, doesn't immediately lend credence to their claims...

Hey Hey...

702 is Prime Media... all those on their air are managed by Prime Media under Prime Talent... their tagline is... "Let their fame be your fortune".
Product / brand credibility by celebrity association.

For a fee, you can book them to endorce your product / event / snake oil etc.
For a bigger fee you can book them to endorce your product / event / snake oil / etc. ON AIR.

Yup... so my guess is they "gave" that guy so much time because he paid for it.

You must have heard them punting this on their shows. This was apparently the reason Soli Philander had a fall-out with Cape Talk... was not prepared to be a mouth piece for Prime Media / Talent advertorial spots, so they did not renew his contract. He refused to allow Prime Talent to become his manager.

EDIT:

They are in the business of information and entertainment. They are masters of verbal sparring. They possess a wealth of knowledge on an assortment of issues. So, what else can they do?

Try something a little different.

One part of body standard olive oil, another ozone oil.

Give it a month, see which look better.

I freaking hate the dj advert things.

Dear lord but this stuff is expensive. R96.00 for a 25ml little container thingy. Well, got one and will see what its like. There is no way I will be using this as a moisturizer as some say it is good for. Just way to fcking expensive for that. Gonna try it on the one spot on my temple and there is a "dry" spot on my inner thigh gonna try it on also.

PS: Dischem keeps it in a fridge....so I am doing the same. It does have a strange clean smell. Rather nice.
