Hey evry1!!:)

Got myself a 3G card this weekend but got no laptop so whet out and bought a P111 adapter for my pc.

Here I am: Brand new 3G card and internet hungry but as soon as I pop the card into the P111 adapter, windows throws out this error:mad:
"The device "Generic Cardbus Controller" has detected a Cardbus card in its slot , but the firmware on this system is not configured to allow the Cardbus controller to be run in Cardbus mode. The operating system will currently accept only 16-bit (R2) pc-ca"

Pleeease help...
Thanx in advance.

Is this with the Elan PIII PCI<-->PCMCIA adapter card? also what version of Windoze are you running & which Windoze service pack [if any] do you have installed? also which make&model of 3G data card did you get?

Yup, its the Elan one...I've got Windows XP SP1 with a Option Vodacom Data card model:GT 3G Quad.
Do you think my motherboard bios needs to be flashed??

I could be wrong here...
...But make sure you first install the drivers etc before installing the hardware. I think think thats noted somewhere in the docs...

Still did not work so i sent the card back to Vodacom(they sed sumthings wrong with it) and got me another one from Incredible Corruption.

This one at least works(its a mecer) however as soon as i insert the 3g card into the adapter, it tries to install it in device manager and winds up installing two occurences of it and they dont work!!(some error bout resource conflict) Windows troubleshooting did not work.

Why meeeee!!!

Wot is your exact error message that you get? and can you tell me what the error says under device manager..??
