P35, G33 or 650i chipset?

Hi guys.

I need to get a new motherboard (will have a Q6600 on it, and yes, I'm going to overclock it.)

Which chipset is best IYO?
And, if possible, could one of you maybe explain what exactly the chipset does, why the G33(eg) is better than the G31 etc etc, and maybe just give some need to know info on chipsets?
As far as I can deduce the G33 is basically the integrated version of the P35???

Oh, I'm also gonna run an 8800gt, if I can still find one by tomorrow(Exam ends), and I don't think I'll ever run SLi. (I'd rather sell the 8800GT and buy a > 2 x 8800GT card in a year...)

And then lastly : I have an Aerocool Zero Degree gaming chassis, and basically everything is mounted upside-down.
Now : I read somewhere that the "heatpipes" doesn't work as well when the mobo is mounted upside down.
This would be a problem since both the Intel-chipset motherboards I'm looking at has got "heatpipe tech" (ASUS P5K and ASUS P5K-V)

I've been impressed by the 650i chipset's overclocking ability (currently running an E6550 @ 3.2GHz with stock cooling and stock voltage on an Asus P5N-E SLi) so I would recommend having a look at it

650i is your best bang for buck

P35 chipset like the ASUS P5K is an excellent choice.

I've used Gigabyte for ages now...bought my first Asus mobo in august (same as WKJ?:beanie's) and it's just superb. Running my E6550 at 2.8GHz without any problems, I'm sure I can push it even further easily. I will however, not recommend it for a Quad.

The P35 supposedly OC quads nicely. I would buy an Asus P5K if I were you The upside down mounting could pose cooling problems I guess (if it uses fluids in the heatpipes). Why not get water cooling while you're at it?
Keep in mind the P5K only has 1 IDE slot and only one PS/2 port for the keyboard (so you'll need SATA hard drives and a USB mouse)

They recon the P35 clocks up better than the 680i , but I spose it comes down to personal preference.

I have had good experiences with the nForce 6xxi range of products so I'll keep recommending them
